    Understanding the NeuroTrac Range

NeuroTrac produces a trusted range of portable electrotherapy and biofeedback devices used across physiotherapy, rehabilitation, and specialist clinical settings. This guide explains what each device does and how the range is structured, so you can explore the options with confidence.

Three types of therapy, one trusted brand

NeuroTrac devices use one or more of three therapeutic modalities. Understanding the difference between them helps make sense of the range.

    TENS

    Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation

Sends small electrical pulses through the skin to interrupt pain signals and support the body's natural pain response. Used for pain management across a wide range of conditions.

    NMES / NMS

    Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation

Targets motor nerves to trigger muscle contractions. Used in rehabilitation settings where re-educating or reactivating specific muscles is part of the recovery process.

    EMG Biofeedback

    Electromyography Biofeedback

Measures the electrical activity produced by muscles and provides real-time visual or auditory feedback. Particularly valuable where patients need to learn or relearn precise muscle activation.

    The MyoPlus Range

The MyoPlus devices are professional-grade units designed for clinicians who need precise measurement, customisable programming, and detailed data alongside electrical stimulation. Each model builds on the last in terms of channels, software capability, and reporting depth.

    MyoPlus Family

Built for clinical environments where outcomes need to be measured, not just managed.

All MyoPlus devices combine biofeedback and electrical stimulation in professional-grade hardware. The Pro and Software Kit variants add diagnostic software, custom programme creation, and exportable reporting for clinical documentation and referrer communications.

    Accessories and consumables

The following accessories are available for the NeuroTrac range. Electrodes are compatible with all TENS, NMES, and biofeedback devices in the range and will need to be replaced over time.

    NDIS participants

Some NeuroTrac devices may be relevant for NDIS participants depending on their plan and support categories. Contact the Rehab Technology team for guidance on quoting and documentation. We are a registered NDIS provider and can help you work through the process.

    Common questions about NeuroTrac

NeuroTrac is a registered medical device brand designed, developed, and manufactured by Verity Medical Ltd, based in Ireland with offices in the UK. Founded in 1998, Verity Medical has spent over 25 years focused on clinical-grade rehabilitation and neuromuscular stimulation technology. All NeuroTrac devices are CE-marked medical devices manufactured to recognised medical safety standards.

NeuroTrac devices are CE-marked medical devices, not consumer-grade stimulators. They are designed for clinical use by physiotherapists and rehabilitation clinicians, and for supervised home use under clinical guidance. This distinction matters: the device specifications, programme accuracy, and output controls are held to medical device standards.

TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) sends electrical pulses through the skin to interrupt pain signals. It is used for pain management and does not cause muscle contractions.

NMES or NMS (Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation) targets motor nerves to trigger actual muscle contractions. It is used in rehabilitation where re-educating or reactivating a muscle is the goal.

EMG Biofeedback (Electromyography) is a measurement tool rather than a stimulation tool. It detects and displays the electrical activity your muscles are already producing, giving clinicians and patients real-time feedback on muscle function. Some NeuroTrac devices combine EMG biofeedback with stimulation in the same unit.

Channel refers to an independently controlled stimulation output. A dual-channel device can treat two separate electrode sites simultaneously, which can mean targeting two different muscles or two sides of the body at the same time. A four-channel device extends this to four independent outputs. The channels on NeuroTrac devices use isolated circuits, meaning each channel operates independently for safety.

The wired remote hand switch allows the patient or clinician to trigger a stimulation pulse at a specific moment during a movement or exercise. This is particularly useful for protocols like foot drop rehabilitation, where the goal is to time muscle stimulation to coincide with a specific phase of gait or movement. The patient can trigger stimulation themselves without adjusting the device, which supports more natural, functional training.

Lock mode prevents the patient from changing the device settings during a home programme, ensuring the clinician-prescribed parameters are maintained. When locked, the device also records the total time in use and the average current delivered, which gives the treating clinician a compliance record to review at the next appointment.

ETS combines biofeedback and stimulation in a single therapy mode. The device monitors the patient's own muscle effort via EMG, and when the patient's voluntary effort reaches a set threshold, it automatically triggers an electrical stimulation to assist or complete the contraction. This is used in neurological rehabilitation where a patient has some voluntary muscle activity but needs assistance to achieve a full functional movement. The MyoPlus Pro includes ETS capability.

The MyoPlus Pro Software Kit models connect wirelessly (up to 10 metres) to the NeuroTrac PC software. The software allows clinicians to view real-time EMG data, create and save custom treatment programmes, generate patient progress reports showing work/rest periods, peak values, and average current, and print these reports for documentation or referrer communications. It is designed as a clinical tool for tracking measurable rehabilitation outcomes over time.

Several NeuroTrac devices are designed for supervised home use, meaning they can be used by a patient at home as part of a clinician-prescribed programme. The NeuroTrac TENS, MultiTENS, Obstetric TENS, and Rehab units are all portable and practical for home settings. More advanced units like the MyoPlus range are primarily clinical tools. Your treating clinician will determine what is appropriate for your situation.

Some NeuroTrac devices may be relevant for NDIS participants depending on their individual plan, support categories, and clinical needs. Rehab Technology is a registered NDIS provider. Contact our team and we can assist with quoting and the documentation required for NDIS purchasing.

Yes. Verity Medical maintains a clinical research library at clinical.neurotrac.com, which contains clinical papers, application protocols, and evidence-based guidance for NeuroTrac devices across a range of conditions and rehabilitation settings. This resource is designed to help clinicians justify device selection and inform treatment protocols.

Important: The information on this page is for general reference only and does not constitute clinical advice. Device selection should always be made in consultation with your treating clinician or allied health professional, who can assess your individual needs and recommend an appropriate treatment approach. Rehab Technology does not provide device suitability assessments.
