The RedGum Lightweight Tri Walker is a three wheel walking frame for people who need something steadier than a walking stick but find a four wheel rollator too bulky for the house. At 4.6kg it is light enough to lift over a step or into a car boot one handed, and the narrow triangular footprint turns inside hallways and bathroom doorways where a wider frame gets stuck. There is no seat, which is the trade-off: this is a walker for getting about, not for resting on.
- Epoxy powder coated aluminium frame weighing 4.6kg without the bag, so it is easy to lift and manoeuvre.
- Swivel front wheel for tight turns indoors, with two fixed rear wheels for directional stability.
- Height adjustable handles across five settings, from 830 to 930mm.
- Locking handbrakes with easy engage and release levers, so the frame can be parked while standing or transferring.
- Ergonomic rubber hand grips that spread load across the palm.

Handle height is the setting worth taking time over. With the user standing upright in their usual shoes and arms hanging relaxed at their sides, the handles should sit level with the crease of the wrist. Elbows then bend to roughly 15 to 20 degrees on the grips. Handles set too high push the shoulders up and tire the user out; too low and they will stoop forward, which is exactly what a walking frame is meant to prevent.
A tri walker suits people with reasonable balance and grip who need light support and manoeuvrability in tighter spaces. If the user needs somewhere to sit and rest mid-walk, or tends to lean heavily on the frame, a four wheel seat walker will be the safer choice.
