Description
Description
The RedGum Walking Tutor with Seat is a forearm support walker for clients who can't safely load through their wrists and hands. Weight goes through the padded forearm troughs instead, which keeps the user upright rather than stooped over a standard frame. The built-in padded seat gives somewhere to rest mid-walk, and the whole thing folds down to 270mm wide for the car boot or a cupboard.
- Padded forearm supports with ergonomic rubber hand grips, so load is carried through the forearms rather than the wrists.
- Height adjustable forearm pads across five settings, from 1075 to 1175mm.
- Padded seat at 530mm from the floor for rest breaks without needing to find a chair.
- User friendly loop brake handles for control on slopes and when coming to a stop.
- 200mm wheels for a smoother roll over uneven footpaths and door thresholds.
- Removable carry bag rated to 5kg, plus a walking stick holder.
- Folds for transport and storage without tools.

Forearm pad height is the setting worth spending time on. With the client standing upright, shoulders relaxed and elbows bent to roughly 90 degrees, the pads should meet the forearms without pushing the shoulders up. If the client is shrugging, the pads are too high. If they're leaning forward to reach them, too low.
A forearm support walker suits clients who can weight bear through their legs but can't take load through the wrists or hands, commonly after upper limb surgery, or with arthritis, a hand or wrist injury, or a condition affecting grip strength. If the client can push comfortably through their hands, a standard rollator will usually be lighter and easier to manage. Get in touch if you're weighing up the options for a specific client.
